Fine, it's Friday

Yeah, me too.

DJ always coming in hard with the politics, and then a bunch of millennial nonsense. What's to like?

Bamagrad and kobes not there much.

Board IQ at an all time low.
When I'm not around to keep you guys in check, everything goes haywire.

That's good sign that they're responsible and care. A lot of places just care about the $$.

Penny, our doxie, is probably last dog we'll get from a breeder. It's tough as Mrs Pnk really likes doxies and you don't really find those on rescues unless they're old or have health problems (and usually both old and health problems)

Or doxie mixes
Personally I didn't want to get one from a breeder. I would have rather adopted. But when I got there I was pretty surprised at how well set up and taken care of they were. And they weren't nearly as expensive as other breeders. You can easily spend $1500+ for a golden retriever puppy. I believe he was $800. Still ridiculous, but not as bad as others around here.

Still in the future, I would rather adopt.

Murray has mostly stopped with cord chewing, but he did unplug my phone charger other day and I caught him. I think unattended i would've lost another cord

he's chewed 2 laptop power cords (shokcing himself once as it was plugged in), 4-5 phone/ipad charging cards....
I just bought a pet cam fairly cheaply last weekend. So I can watch him and yell at him when the gf is gone. The issue is when I'm busy working I can't obviously keep an eye on him always. I looked away for a little and caught him chewing. He did stop once I yelled at him. But hes now chewed up several picture frames, edges of a few end/coffee tables, a remote control, sponges, and now some cords. I'm sure I'm missing a few.

rub your cords with cayenne pepper or soemthing maybe?

I know, that's why I had to take you off ignore on both sites.
I've never put anyone on ignore. I like the reinforcement of my judgment of them.

My cat was chewing on a chair armrest, so I put pepper on it. Saw him go to scratch his face on it, and he looked up and sneezed. Had a "wtf?!" face

I've put a few

but no one from the SB group.

I guess Douche had a stint on there for a bit, but that's it.

there is an amish population in central wisconsin, I'll see them driving in their buggys along the highway on the way to inlaws

i always feel bad for the horses, especially in inclimate weather
SE MN has a big population as well.

And horses are working animals that do just fine in cold weather.

i dont know, he eats eggs with hotsauce

It's mostly out of his system, but he's not 100% trust worthy. Especially now with him cooped up due to his bum knee, sucks that between waiting for surgery and recovery it'll be may

Good morning good people. I got a bill to pay and then change the litter box and I'm done for the day.

Maybe I'll do some laundry or start reading another book?

I could get a haircut, but I'm bald. I haven't been to a barbershop since 2007. Anything new happening in the world of hair cutting? It's probably virtual now, but it might have gone to a streaming service since I last went.

Thought for the day: There is no sunrise so beautiful that it's worth waking me up for.

I'm not opposed to adopting, but most places I've checked into require more work than it would take for me to get foster a kid. Fuck that. We've bought all 4 of our dogs. One was from a farm, one probably was from a puppy mill-type operation, and the most recent two were from reputable breeders.

Caj was adopted and that process was cake.

they asked me some questions on the phone after I put in my application, but it was not a challenge at all.

I know some places like the SPCA can be pretty insane. Which is crazy. Most of them have a surplus of dogs and should be handing them out much easier. I understand wanting to be a little cautious. You don't want the dogs to just end up right back in adoption. But I've known couples to get denied because they work a 9-5 job and aren't home 24/7.

But the humane societies around here are apparently fairly easy to deal with. Atleast what I've heard from people.

Probably depends upon the breed if people will get denied for not being there "24/7"

I would certainly adopt and animal right now for sure.. Except for the one major hurdle that I wouldn't be able to overcome (unless I moved) and that is, "no pets allowed"

They still cut hair in person....LOL.

I mean I get there being different exceptions/rules for certain breeds. But like @kobesgame was saying. It shouldn't be as in depth as child adoption. I love dogs, but in the end, they're freaking dogs.

I'll probably look into adopting again when my Dane dies because our lab will likely have many years left in her at that point because of the difference in life expectancy. And I'd like our next round of dogs to be similarly in the puppy stage at the same time. I prefer dealing with the puppy stage at the same time for 2 dogs rather than splitting it up.

I'm strongly leaning towards a St. Bernard for my next puppy, so I'd definitely go breeder on that one.
