Legit bummed about this. He was such an iconic coach. Such a shame he never got to a FF. Got close so many times only to come up short.

should Temple pull a UConn and go back to the A-10? La Salle and St. Joe's are still in the A-10

Yes, much for the same reasons UConn went back to the Big East. Temple playing, Tulane, UCF, USF, Houston, SMU, Tulsa, East Carolina does absolutely nothing for them. It's just a better geographical fit, and recruiting fit IMO.

It's a much better decision for basketball but they want a home for their football program. They would have to pull a UConn and essentially just give it up in football. I don't think the administration at Temple wants to do that.

Oh yeah I agree about that part. As soon as they put more emphasis on football, their basketball declined. They were terrible in football in the 90's and early 2000's. Honestly when they were in the A-10 in basketball and the MAC in football, I think that was ideal for them. Obviously being the AAC gets them more money, but we'll never see what Temple basketball was in the 80's/90's again in that conference.

Unfortunately conference expansion in football has taken a toll on college basketball

Yes, totally agree. The Big East with Pitt, Cuse, UL etc was so good. When they had 16 teams it was great. Big East got weaker, and so did the ACC because Pitt and Cuse have been pretty average since joining.

the 16 team Big East sucked dick, most over-rated league in the history of mankind

conferences that are more than 10 teams are horrible for college basketball.

Lol. It was the best of both worlds as a college sports fan. It didn't affect college football realignment, and it was loaded. Late 2000's/early 2010's was awesome. The 16 team Big East tournaments were awesome.
