It's time to seriously think about who's next at IU. I can't see him staying after this year. Maybe they give him another year. But it's not like the forecast for next year looks any better.

I’d keep him one more year if I were IU if nothing else to save some money on having to pay his contract and another coach. I don’t know who jumps out (Alford??) but I can’t see them dumping him after this screwed up year unless they have someone in mind that is perceived to be a better hire.

Alford is the prodigal son....

If the only reason to keep someone is to save some money, they shouldn't be kept IMO(although I understand that rationale). He has no results in his 4th season, and it's not like he had a good recruiting class coming in, as an excuse to keep him.

I can see a guy like Nate Oats jump at the possibility. He's a midwestern guy, with connections in that area. Hell I even think a guy like Porter Moser would be an upgrade. Some other possibilities: Mark Pope, Niko Medved and either one of the Hurley's would be an upgrade IMO. I think all those candidates are doable as well.

i can't believe this is his fourth season

i thought Indiana finally got it right when they hired him.

seriously though, how much longer are we going to pretend that Indiana is a blueblood? At this point, it's pretty obvious that they aren't UNC, Duke, Kentucky or Kansas.

Yeah, they aren't blueblood status anymore IMO. They have only been a 4 seed or better THREE times this century, and only have 8 tournament wins in the last 15 years. They haven't made an E8 since 2002. Hell off the top of my head I think Duke hasn't been a 4 seed or better once this century and that was 2007(lol Paulus). IU's last title was what, 1987. Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, UNC, Florida, UConn and Nova have all won multiple titles since then off the top of my head. Programs like Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Arizona, UCLA, Maryland, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Louisville, Butler have all been to multiple FF's and I'm sure I'm missing some. They simply aren't elite.

It's been a couple years since I updated my top 25 programs this century, but if I had to guess they are going to be a fringe top 25 team this century, if at all. Without looking I can't remember where they were at when I last did it, but honestly, they've sucked the last couple seasons so there isn't much to add from a resume standpoint.

Indiana is Nebraska football. Proud history but not an elite program anymore.

Not getting the recruits like they used to. But its wild how bad he's been

Thought he would do well
