Yeah, that's wind chill but real temp below zero. and thats for the next 10 days.

And that seems to be a huge portion of the country.
Probably lose power.

What is everybody doing for this.

High of 12 today, low of -1.

High of 7 on Wednesday, low of -9.

High of 4 on Thursday, low of -16.

High of 9 on Friday, low of -11.

Going to the supermarket to elbow old ladies in the throat so that I can grab up all the bread, milk and toilet paper. Then I'm going to drive home, straddling both lanes and slowing down even further than 8 when people honk at me. Later, I'm going to walk the dog by ignoring the sidewalk and walking in the street; yes, I'm not going to take my hand outta my pocket to pick up his poop, even though I'm wearing my special insulated gloves that I can still use my smartphone with.

If it snows, Ima shovel it into my neighbor's driveway when he's not looking.

I’ve found drinking and smoking pot helps.

But, the three beers I left in the garage last night are frozen solid.

Trouble light in the well house too.
I only know some basic shit, just from being in the mountains in Utah, and have been snowed in up there for short periods. There was a water line to a bathroom that would freeze up periodically. Left it trickling.

There was a 2 foot section of drain pipe exposed, and that fucker froze up solid and backed the whole fucking house up. Ended up cutting about 6 feet of pipe out and just replacing it. Pipe was under the deck, and we covered it temporarily and built a box around it couple years ago. Nothing worse than dealing with plumbing issues in the freezing cold.

I’m no plumber but you already hit on the other thing I know. Keep the cold water at a trickle when its extreme cold.

Some country homes around here have “well houses”. We had one when I was a kid. If you keep a trouble light on, or a heat lamp for chickens if you’re really concerned, you should be fine. Assuming the well house is somewhat insulated.
