Sloppy Tuesday

Good morning good people. Lost power yesterday. Temp went down to -2 this morning, coldest since 1949. Power finally came back on about an hour ago. The Texas grid was not built for all the electronics that exist today, plus the cold temperature.

I had to have oxygen tanks brought in and installed for the wife. That was fun. The dog was freezing and I had to warm her up. Cats won't get under a blanket no matter what.

It's taking a long time to warm up the house. It's 61 degrees right now, which is better than the 43 degrees when the power came back on.

Thought for the day: I thought I was finished with the Army and freezing.

Morning asshats. Busy day today. Currently waiting for IT to call me and set up an older computer from our office for me because mine crashed and died on Friday. Hopefully we can get that rolling this morning. This afternoon I have to go to the eye doc because my glasses broke while skiing. Then off to coach Lil’ Kobe in basketball and Destination Imagination. Going to be tired when I get home tonight at 9pm.

Gotcha, yes I do like Tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. They're fascinating as hell to me for whatever reason. No, I don't like that they kill people and destroy homes, but they give you an adrenaline rush like no other.

No crash. It was so goddamn cold that I had to constantly take my goggles and glasses off to de-ice them. I think pushing my glasses in and out of my goggles compromised them.

I need to find some prescription ski goggles.
