Worse than a kid getting drums?
I never had kids but have two nieces and a nephew. They've turned out pretty awesome these days. Nice thing about them when they were young, is that I could "give them back" after I babysat them every now and then.

But I did give my very young nephew (3 or 4 years old at the time) one of those toy steering wheel things with a horn (that worked) and he really LOVED it! Honk Honk!! :heh:

Seemed to ONLY like the horn part of it the most. I don't think my brother has ever really forgiven me for that. :mad2: :pound:

Something like this:

Funny story...I have 3 grandsons. 2 are brothers 6 and 10 and live here in California. The 10 year old gave a girl at school that he likes a valentine. She declined to accept it because she likes another boy. So the 10 year old (who's always been sensitive) is pretty bummed about it.

So his Mom and Nana get ice cream, junk food and a couple of movies and sit with him on the couch doing that whole "girl with a broken heart thing".

His 6 year old brother who is definitely not sensitive (Mom and Nana blame me babysitting him a lot when he was younger for that lol), starts razzing him about it. Calling him a sissy, fake crying, etc. Finally says...and I quote: "Okay, I'm going outside. You ladies enjoy your cry."

God I love that kid.

Growing up, I had an aunt that had these massive tiddies. YUGE. Had to get specially made bras and finally got a reduction down to a D or something, so i know big tits. My 3rd grade music teacher's were even bigger. She was a biggun, but not grotesque...but big in a teachery kind of way. Think: the teacher on A Christmas Story. Well, this massive tittied woman would come in twice a week to teach us music and she'd be up there, waving her arms while trying to teach us how to play and her goddamn long ass necklace would slip over one boob and get stuck there and I would just lose my shit, laughing so hard.
Can we make this a daily thing? Tiddy Story Time with @moxie or maybe @moxie's Tiddy Collection?

In my house, suddenly I'm the one who is annoying everybody with musical instruments.

Our son took Trombone during 6th and 7th grades but he hardly ever practiced, and this year he's basically quit. We were able to borrow a P-Bone (plastic instrument) from a friend, rather than spend 1,500$ on something that will sit in the closet for the next 30 years. But now he says he wants a mini keyboard with a talk box. His great aunt is going to get him one, even though we already have a full-sized Yamaha collecting dust.

Sounds like he's musically inclined but its a matter of finding him the right instrument.

I was better at piano than the electric guitar. Tried the guitar but I was no good at it. The guitar soon became a prop that I would carry around in a guitar case on campus, Chicks dug it.

Yep, he's had a hard time sticking with a lot of things. He had piano lessons earlier but got really impatient with himself. And he cycled through about 4-5 different sports until he settled on martial arts.

I was the same way as a kid; short attention span and never really committed to anything.

I tried to play bass for 30 years before switching to regular guitar during the pandemic. I'm much better at lead than bass. I've also started learning ukulele which has been fun, and next I'm going to add a mandolin
