I never read into what transpired with him at Florida so I don't know the back story there.
At Ohio State his mistake was covering for Zack Smith, that eventually came to a head and he got bounced. That was a result of being blindly loyal to Earle Bruce.
Other than the Zack Smith saga his run at Ohio State was nothing out the ordinary for a big time coach at a big time school.
