I get it, a lot of these kids are at the end of their college careers and they won't make it to the pros. They spend 3-4 years with the same group of guys and coaches, it becomes like family.

No excuses from the Illini. Loyola is dam good and Illinois was believing the hype and inexperienced. Maybe we beat up on each other too much? No idea
 
It's tournaments like these that really put things into perspective for a lot of programs. Clearly everyone wants to win titles but unless youre a blueblood or close to it you should really cherish any sort of solid run.
