Better, younger options. I thought he was pretty serviceable. My guess is he showed up asking for bigger money and they told him to go away.
He did a decent job last season. I think it worked out pretty well for all parties. Cowboys took a flyer on a guy and got some decent production for cheap. Smith will probably get paid better at his next stop.
