So Covid19 hit, got laid off. Did some searching and lucked out with a better job. Immediatly got a 10k raise annualy, benefits are second to none. It's a union job. Never thought I'd join a union but man do they take care of their members. Got my health plan info in the mail yesterday and Wow! I'm like freaking pumped and had to share. It's 0 cost to me, $100 deductable, 1k out of pocket max. Family covered too with $200 deductable and 2k out of pocket max. Did I mention its 0 payroll cost. Holy crap. God is great!

Congratulations on the new job and bennies MarkOU
My wife got a new job a month ago, doubled her salary and the benefits package is spectacular. I ditched the benefits package from my job and am on hers now. her job gave me a raise since I don't have to pay the $750 a month in a family healthcare benefits.
Man those wins feel good.

Congratulations.

What do you do at this job?

Also it's tough to navigate the waters while being union and also conservative.

So watch your ass.

I worked a union job (logging) for 8 years and as a whole, it was easily the most right wing industry I've ever worked in. In fact, apart from myself and maybe one or two others, the entire 100 man camp leaned right.

Not so in the construction trades.

Well done, man. I applaud you for taking the initiative and getting a job, contributing to society, taking care of your family, and not sitting on your ass collecting welfare and expecting the government to take care of you. You have my respect, good sir.

Please pass the work ethic and attitude to your kids...

OP changes jobs more than I change my underwear.

Congrats.

Also, it's a PITA working with the union plants compared to the non... Have to ask one of them to do everything instead of doing it yourself.

Hey Dole, someone put a copy of The Communist Manifesto in lost and found. Is it your's or Yoga's?

No, mine is safe and I still have my copy of Mao's Little Red Book.

"Be resolute, fear no sacrifice and surmount every difficulty to win victory."

Talking radical BS got me a lot of action in college. Panties, panties everywhere....

The girls in Berkeley had never heard anything like it before, huh?
