The first MLB game I ever attended was the St Louis Cardinals vs NY Mets in August of 1973. Tom Seaver pitched that day for the Mets and Lou Brock played 1st base for the Cardinals. They both died about a week apart.

Lives of Brock, Seaver linked even at the end
The baseball universe lost two of its greatest stars this week, with Hall of Famers Tom Seaver and Lou Brock passing away within six days of each other. Both men were beloved for not only their legendary performances on the diamond, but also their integrity and ambassadorship off it. Andwww.mlb.com
