Having a DUI on your record, or having a positive illegal drug test will lose your pilots license. Even if I get a little THC in my system, trip and break an ankle and have to go to the ER and they take a blood sample...gone.

As for little league, an illegal positive drug test will fail your background check and they'd take my team from me.

Why would the ER drug test you if you have a broken ankle? They need your consent to do that, and even if they do, they lawfully can't provide the results to your employer without your consent.

If you break your ankle at work, that is a different story.

FAA isn't my employer, I'm not a commercial pilot. But in order to keep a license, you have to pass pretty tough background checks.

Usually posting with a smile on my face, but I’m somewhat serious with this.

I’ve always kinda planned on smoking heroin while far away from home. No plan to ever use needles for fun, or anything like that.

Indulged a bit too much in other people’s pain killers at one point. To the point, I had issues pooping for a couple days, and that was that. I could only handle a half a pill at a time anyway, or I’d just fall asleep.

You think a one and done expierience would honestly taint things going forward?

Never took ecstacy for that reason, but that’s a whole separate thing.

No shit? One test and you’re fired?

Ive coached HS sports on and off for two decades, never had a drug screen. Would not have guessed LL was so stringent. That’s kinda shocking tbh.

Not fired, license pulled. Although if I were a pilot that would be ground for a firing if I couldn't do my job anymore. It's just a hobby for me, but the FAA doesn't screw around. "8 hours bottle to throttle" is drilled into your head in pilot school for a reason, and even that isn't foolproof for a spot check. I've heard stories of guys who powered through some shots right at 8 hours before a flight and then failed a piss test on the flight deck.

You’ve surely heard this before, but I’m still going to blather on.

Being stoned takes some practice. Unlike drinking where you can drink, get drunk, fun....being stoned can have a rough time or two. Some do it and say fuck that. They might be the smart ones. Or they might be the pussies. To each their own. You got thread a freak or two and you learn not to open certain doors in your head.

How was micro dosing? I’ve not done any psychs in 25 years, and haven’t felt an urge. But, I admit to some curiosity with micro dosing.

I did LSD three times as a young man. I remember worrying I would freak out. I never felt the urge to freak out. Not one single moment. It was nice that way.

But, individual mileage absolutely varies on such things.

That's exactly where I'm at, learning what not to think about and how to enjoy it.

Didn't help that one of my first re-introductions to THC was edible form and I fell for the age old trap of "eh, I don't feel anything. Time to top up". Lesson learned!
