A push for legalizing mushrooms.....

That's exactly where I'm at, learning what not to think about and how to enjoy it.

Didn't help that one of my first re-introductions to THC was edible form and I fell for the age old trap of "eh, I don't feel anything. Time to top up". Lesson learned!
Ba ha ha. Yep. Edibles might take a moment. But they hit hard!

I smoked for years and when I tried my first edible (just one) in Denver I had my closest shot at freaking out since I was a kid. Really had to work through that one for a bit.

I fear my paranoia would destroy me on shrooms, never touched em.
Same, I got told if you're paranoid going in you'll just have a bad trip so chickened out when I had the chance.

Funny thing is mine were really light, like 1.5mg each and being a lightweight I took my time testing the waters for a few days. Then one day a few weeks later I popped 3mg, then 2 hours later another 3mg as I had figured out was a great way to hold just enough high to enjoy it. And then for some reason an hour after the second I decided the 1.5mg mints I had would be a good idea so another 4.5mg. 10mg is a pretty good dose for a lightweight. But I was only flat-on-my-back high for about 45 minutes. Since then I keep it under 7.5mg in a 4 hour span.

If you eat a lot, sometimes it feels like mushrooms coming on in the gut.

But you have to know that the climbing stops and ain't gonna kill ya.

This....is how we learn. :beer2:

That’s it right there. The Mrs got her medical card the other year since she had fibromyalgia and a few other words no one has heard of that cause relatively constant pain.

First few times she consumed concentrate on a cookie I had to answer “am I gonna die?” quite a bit. But, she learned.

Ha, yeah I've seen some of those cookies and treats that are packing some big mg's. Have to be careful.

shrooms are pretty fun. coolest thing i ever did on shrooms was sit on the beach and watch the waves

All drugs should be legal, and shrooms have some good medical qualities as well. Psilocybin is the best treatment known for those that suffer from cluster headaches(suicide headaches).

I only tried shrooms and either I didn't eat enough or I got ripped off, because I didn't feel anything.

they might've been old. if they're not fresh enough, they seem to lose their potency.

Yeah, but this was concentrate. Comes in a syringe. You can bake and cook with it. You can load it in a vape and inhale it. Or you can put it on something edible and just eat it. The syringe has something like 100mgs or more in it. But it has little to no marking to gauge it.

We had to trial and error a little to figure that one out.

That’s what it was! I said earlier I saw something where people take micro doses for anxiety. It was for migraines. Multiple people swearing by it. They don’t get enough in them to trip out. But it’s just enough to relive the headaches.

The legality of drugs has never really mattered much to me. If I want to do a drug, I'll do it. I don't give much of a shit whether it's illegal or not ... other than availability.

Heroin could be made legal tomorrow and I'd still choose to not do it.
Probably because all drugs aren’t equally safe. Ask yourself which drugs are likely to make your heart explode or transform you into a raving schizophrenic for several hours, and you’ll likely avoid those (or at least be much more careful). I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t support widespread use of speedballs, since auto accidents would probably increase by 50,000x overnight alone. That’s why pot always made good sense to legalize; it is roughly as safe as alcohol, isn’t addictive and isn’t going to ruin your life or someone else’s any more than alcohol will.

I think every single drug should at least be decriminalized for personal consumption.

That's what the mints and gummies were for. 1/5mg for macrodosing. One of them, even with a noob like me, is barely noticeable. just enough to know something isn't quite right, but can still fully function.

I agree for all natural drugs. But if you need dangerous chemicals or require the person making the drugs to not mess it up, then it still needs oversight. Decriminalize but control it, so it is regulated and you don't end up with someone trying to pass fentanyl off as something else and killing people. If it is something that can grow in nature, fully legalize it and allow cultivation.

Maybe. That rationalizes it as someone who should be allowed to intentionally poison themselves. Under that logic, I don't really have a problem, except that drug abuse has, in the last 10-15 been transformed as a "disease", forgiving any and all conscious choice that went into the drug abuser's behavior that caused them to become addicted, stop working, ignore responsibilities towards raising children, etc. Decriminalizing it probably would have the effect of removing a lot of the crime surrounding trafficking, provided the cost of obtaining highly addictive substances would be reasonably low. It's not like pot, where anyone can realistically grow and dry their own product, or at the very least find someone willing to.

I’ve spent a long time going back and forth on this. For a long time I’ve felt you can’t just give people no criminal risk on consumption of truly dangerous shit. I’m slowly coming around though that decriminalization could be at least better than the mess we are in. And, done right, it could guide users of dangerous shit to the right treatment, as opposed to jail.

After all, it becomes a lot easier to fight of the dealers with criminal laws when the user pool is being actively shrunk. Combine that with solid interdiction and you could have something. I do recognize just how idealistic that is, as it would take a huge amount of money and effort. But it would be the right way to start taking some of the threat of things like heroin, fentanyl and all that shit away.
