I have nothing against pellet cookers TBH, but I have a good charcoal smaller that is basically set and forget like a pellet cooker and I still am leary of electrical components in MN for outdoor cooking

You underestimate my laziness

Charcoal and wood chunks. I've considered a smoker that uses solely wood, but I don't want to buy a cord of maple to smoke and store it, and if you buy small bundles it adds up really quickly, so charcoal smoker works good for me
