So, I just learned from two different people, one in Florida and one in Kentucky, that everyone in California is still under lockdown, businesses which aren't considered essential are all still closed, and almost all schools are still shut down.

As someone who lived the majority of his life in California who now lives outside of the state, I can confidently say that most non-Californians beliefs about what actually occurs there are entirely inaccurate.

It was just especially strange to have my step-father telling me what is going on where I live, insisting he knew better than I. I mean, yeah, perhaps a bit of his annoyance stemmed from me being a smart-ass, like when I said I guessed the children I saw walking to school this morning were a figment of my imagination, but that was only after he was adamant I had no idea what was happening where I live.

One drunken late nite in Vegas, we got talking to these ladies from somewhere, I forget...France maybe? One of them limey bastards...and they were completely baffled by our "gun culture". Like every stupid OlympicOscar-level talking point possible. Vehemently opposed to guns. Completely terrified of em'. Thinks only cops should have em', and that included hunting.
