First "Classic Movie" you saw in a theater when it was first released/year

Top Gun. I was 6 and that shit was awesome.

My youngest has a weird connection to this movie. October 2015 me and the ex are trying for no. 2. We have the sex for the first time when she is fertile Saturday afternoon and the plan is for we to watch college foo5bw
Fuck, I'm old :L

First movie I saw without my parents was a Saturday Matinee. Ulysses with Kirk Douglas. Also a couple western serials. Probably '63. Ulysses came out in '54 so it wasn't new. Nevermind.

Like others here, the first I remember was Star Wars.

Loaded up in the back of my mom's station wagon with some friends. Back in the day where seat belts were only a suggestion, and children flew through the windows on the regular.

Gave added meaning to "don't get cocky, kid"

Star Wars was also a psilocybin evening for me. Peaking as the Millennium Falcon was making it's final run.

There's Something About Mary.

OCMD with my dad.
There’s Something About Mary was the last movie I saw at tWard. Summer before my senior year of HS.

It’s a church now.

I remember seeing Star Wars at a drive in theatre. But there might have been a Benji movie before that as the first movie I remember.

I wouldn’t consider Benji a classic though.

I was about 6 years old, and remember really wanting to see 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Also remember the movie we all wanted to see too, don't really remember if I actually got to see it or not when it came out, but Easy Rider was epic back in the day!

I forgot about Easy Rider.

My Dad and I went to see that one one of my orthodontist trips to Victoria. My Mom wasn't on the trip so her veto wasn't in play.

Earthquake. Cried when the cattle truck fell off the ramp.
National Football League GIF by New York Giants

I was really young. I am not sure if it was the initial release, but would have been Willy Wonka. Otherwise it would have been Jaws in 1975.

And I also forgot my Dad took me to Ben Hur when I was 6 or so.

That was truly a classic and I was wanting a chariot for weeks afterwards.
