Maddux regular season Rocket post season. I think when facing good teams in the playoffs, better hitters were able to battle off Maddux's stuff more in the post season. Kind of the opposite with Rocket, he was the one who could ramp it up another notch
It's interesting to see that the two pitchers put up very similar numbers in the post season throughout their career, with both having 35 post season games, similar innings (199 and 198) with a similar WHIP (1.221 and 1.242). Maddux had the lower ERA (3.27 to 3.75) but also had more unearned runs. Just an example of different approaches achieving similar results.

I'd take Clemens. He could rely on the fastball to blow by hitters if the offspeed wasn't working, on the rare occasion Maddux was off with his location, he'd get rocked.

Peak to Peak Maddux probably had better numbers but I'd take Rocket by a hair. That hair probably being aided in his later years with steroids unfortunately.

I voted Maddux. Had a thing against Clemens since he was in college. Just not a fan.
