You are correct, I do not need a pick up truck by any means but I have always wanted one and I saw the Canyon in person walking down the street in NH and it looked pretty nice

My next and last pickup was a '99 Silverado. It was right when Chevy changed the body style. It was a 4x4 automatic. I really liked that truck absolutely no complaints. I traded it for an suv because it was a standard cab and I needed room for the kids

My cummins ram gets 16-17 empty, 10-11 pulling my 17000 pound rv.

I've have owned maybe 8 trucks in those 32 years. Currently a 2002 off road package F150, king cab. Put the kids in the bed, room for 6 easily.
