Sightings are a very interpersonal thing. You’re right....we haven’t had iron clad proof.
But if you want to believe that people want to justify ghosts just so they don’t have to face that what they did experience was in their mind, and they might be crazy.....that’s all good.
I just see people’s experiences as being a little more substantial than that.

probably would have been time better spent if nintendo made such a game. granted i dug that one game that was mario and luigi playing similar levels collecting coins and avoiding the things they'd add to the level. would start off with like turtles coming out of the pipes, turtles would get faster, they'd add turtles that would "fly" essentially go up and down fireballs would randomly come out from left or right. would have an ice level or two (this was old school NES). Was good team building with the brother.

Thought we were idiots. Ridiculed us. Tried to make us feel bad about ourselves. Was embarrassed for us.
Then when she went to leave, the ghost locked her in on the front porch. Lil sis watched the lock turn as she reached for the doorknob. Think she might have shit herself.
The bitch had locked me in the attic a week earlier. Was stuck up there for hours.

I had something similar years back, the sleep paralysis anyway....I never felt anything paranormal about it.
Probably neurological phenomena...the mind can play tricks. All true. But lack of personally verifiable truth doesn’t negate other experiences or prove outright a lack of existence.
Perhaps just a lack of existence for you personally.
