UK for me. Ruth/Foxx in stoke's lineup is good to see but uk's pitching is what wins this for me.

Just my opinion which doesn't mean much but this is the biggest surprise of the playoffs so far.

My Pitchers be underrated

You have two guys who had tremendous peaks. So that's one of those where if we simulated players using a peak or even average season guys like Guidry and Cuellar would be more valuable. As to how we tend to look at guys in terms of a whole career and a compilation of stats.

Not saying either is the correct approach but the latter is definitely how I feel most guys (me included) are evaluating.

See, I try not to do neither. if you look for full career, you tend to only judge by reputation, and if you only do peak - Brady Anderson should be drafted more often. Still, even with all that - my lineup is murder on anyone.

Interesting side note - World series performances:

If my rotation included Ruth (WS)

Ruth - 3-0 31 IP 0.87 ERA 0.935 WHIP
Guidry - 3-1 32 IP 1.69 ERA 1.063 WHIP
Hunter - 5-3 63 IP 3.29 ERA 1.175 WHIP
Cicotte - 2-3 44 2/3 IP 2.22 ERA 1.097 WHIP
Cuellar - 2-2 41 1/3 IP 2.61 ERA 1.113 WHIP

for without Ruth
Larsen - 4-2 2.75 ERA 36 IP 1.194 WHIP

His Rotation (WS):
Gibson - 7-2 81 IP 1.89 ERA 0.889 WHIP
Dean - 2-2 2.88 ERA 34 1/3 IP 0.990 WHIP
Wood - 3-1 4.50 ERA 22 IP 1.364 WHIP
Harder - N/A
McLain - 1-2 3.24 ERA 16 2/3 IP 1.320 WHIP

We have been down that road before like 8 years ago, if we let teams use Ruth as a pitcher, he would be more valuable than Michael Jordan in hoops. That being said, you had a slightly better squad than I did here. I like my modern club more because of my pitching. I would have voted for you here

I would protest, but I just rest in the knowledge that my genius is once again misunderstood. :dhd:

I will draw everyone's attention to the memory and majesty that was my mighty midget team.

I don't know how you lost with that dominating rotation.
