Tuesday - No Sponsorship, Lame Rainy Day

Working, for me, was the way I could afford the other things. How can I not enjoy that part of it, too?

I enjoy accomplishing things. And then, to get paid for it, too? Nirvana.

Kinda ninjer'd me.

I have serious concerns for anyone that would rather be working than participating in a hobby.

"Want to go fishing/hiking/play with the kids/watch a ballgame?"

"Nah....I don't have any necessary work-related things I need to do, but I think I'll just stay here and work."
I like your attempt at #DoucheLogic.

I enjoy accomplishing things as well. I helped my dad build a table and put in in docks this weekend. Felt good to help out and get it done. Not once did I regret not going inside and getting paid hundreds of dollars an hour to work on a document I can do this afternoon.

So you worked purely for enjoyment. Getting paid is just a bonus.

Kbujr doesn't sound like a Midwesterner, yet he is.

This is a new vortex at least. Last thing I’ll say about it...I’m clearly talking about employment and not just getting tasks accomplished or participating in a hobby.

And I stand by the statement that redseat should find a way to use the employee benefit of his sick pay.

on a teleconference and apparently presentations are not referred to as "presos" and it really chaps my ass

"I think we need you to come back with a preso regardings blah blah blah"

a what?

Someone legit called it a preso?

I don't think I've ever had a job with sick days. But if I had that amount of time building up, I'd definitely use a sick day if I had an appointment scheduled or needed a day to myself. Only reason they are labeling it as sick time is so they don't have to pay it out.
I don't have it anymore, but I used to earn 12 days a year, I never used that much. Once you got 350 hours it converted to vacation days but not 1:1 conversion.

My supervisor was stickler but many encourage employees to take mental health day with sick time from time to time

Mrs Pnk gives many things nicknames, it drives me nuts at times

I get that. I just don't see work as a negative part of life.

Employed or not employed? Not a hard decision.

No, I'm pretty sure #MWWE is not a new vortex at all.

It shouldn't blow your mind that someone else from the NorthEast isn't lazy.

Work/job for me is means to an end, it'll never be more than that to me.

Damn near cut my finger off with a hedge trimmer on Sunday. Probably should’ve got stitches, but the doc and I didn’t want to go to the ER. Hoping the chunk reconnects with the rest of my finger this week.

Wake up some day and just decide you don't want to go in and then call in sick. I'm certain you won't regret it.
dont mind if i do GIF

actually, i did that twice last week and all of my coworkers are training this week, so I'll stick to "working" this week.

Bottom line on this vortex, is if you love what you do then it's a bonus. A lot of people though are just trying to survive until they find that job if they ever do. I don't like work, but I also don't hate it IF I'm doing something I like. Yeah gardening, vacationing, and etc is all better than work, but it would get old at some point. You need to have variety. When you find something you enjoy, you can also enjoy your hobbies and just be a healthier person all around.
