Tongue tie means the tissue connecting his tongue to the bottom of the mouth is a bit short. Lip tie means he's got an extra bit of tissue holding his upper lip to his upper jaw.
How do they fix that?

Hope it's a quick process and doesn't hurt too bad. Medical shit with little kids is the worst. Trying to keep Deuce on oxygen for a week when he had RSV around his 1st birthday was awful. Always messing with the tubes and sensors. And I stayed with my friend's kid in the hospital a few nights when he was there with cancer treatment and it was the same struggle. Not like you can reason with them.

I imagine those things would interfere with speech also?

I wonder if that's where the expression "tongue-tied" came from, though now that doesn't refer to a mechanical problem.
