The 1960-1989 & 1990-2019 Two Team NFL Draft : CHAT

Was surprised to find AJ Green still available. Think he just fell through the cracks because he's not the same player now but was always a top 5 WR in the game at his peak. I myself should’ve taken him way earlier

Looked at him and compared to Johnson it's similar numbers but a small era difference that bumps Johnsons overall up. I know it's easy to say Green isn't done but he definitely looks done.

Carl Pickens > A.J. Green
Pickens was a lot of fun to watch hated watching him play in college tho never liked the Vols. Really liked the Herman Moore pick and Smitty’s Hines Ward pick. I think both are very under rated WR’s

I looked at him seriously back when I was putting my WRs together - almost took him there too, but just not enough slots at the time.

Carl Pickens > A.J. Green
If he was never one of the 5 best WRs of his time for an extended period of time than most certainly not

Oh he’s shot now but in my opinion he’s a little better than Ochocinco but that’s a close call

Green 125 starts 65 td's
Pickens 117 starts 63 td's

Green 125 starts 75.4 ypg
Pickens 117 starts 60.9 ypg

Green had Dalton his entire career

Pickens had 1 year with Boomer, which was Pickens rookie year then he had David Klingler for 1 1/2 years then Jeff Blake for a few years then Neil O'Donnell for a year and Akili Smith for a handful of games.

So, I disagree. Pickens was a good player he just played on shit teams and had shit quarterbacks. The Bengles went 40 - 88 in Pickens eight years with the team.

DT, at less than 250 lbs
And he played like he was 350lbs running a 4.2. I remember him he was a real headache for SC. I believe he was the player that was driving me nuts when y’all beat us in a Friday night game a few years back

I believe he's still on the roster of the Minneshitty Vikings!

If we hadn'ta gone to double picks we would just now be reaching the halfway point of the draft.

Devil should be picking soon.

That defense wasn't the best, but they were fun to watch. The line was so undersized they would shift right as the ball was snapped and make the OLine have to block them at different angles than they were used to.

That game he had 5 tackles and 2 tfl, but he was around the ball all game long. It's how his junior year was, just always there making big plays. He may be my favorite college player. Him or Deone Buchanon.

Andy Dalton is a shitty QB my man. Only way to compare guys of different ERA is by their own peers. Green was consistently one a top 5 WR amongst his peers. It's worth remembering he had the talent to be drafted ahead of Julio Jones and was not far off from him in the early part of their careers. If Green didn't have injury issues 3 of the past 4 years he's easily on a HOF path.

Dalton > Every quarterback Pickens played with aside from his rookie year with Boomer who was on the decline. It's also a different game now than it was in the 90's. I would take Green as well but it's a lot closer than you think it is.

Totally unrelated but miggy hit his 5th on the year today. 8 away from 500 now. Seems a good bet he gets that this year. 3000 hits could be a bridge too far though. He won't get that this year. And then what. He still has 2 years left on his deal lol
4 game hitting streak!!!
