Greatest sports moments you've seen live.

Probably the Piazza/Poop Game. It was September 2004, Phillies leading the Mets 4-3 with 2 outs in the top of the 9th. Mike Piazza's at the dish, and he crushes a hanging slider from Jose Mesa that clears the brick facade out in center field. Then as he's rounding second base, pumping his arms up and down, a very noticeable turd falls down and out of his pant legs. Piazza pretends that nothing happened and continues rounding the bases, but Joe West (the home plate ump) walks out and picks up the piece of poop. He squishes it around in his hand, smells it, and then points at Piazza (who is walking back to the dugout and high-fiving teammates) and calls him out, ending the ballgame.

Of course, Piazza goes crazy and rushes out to West, getting in his face and yelling "It's not my fault!!! I'm a catcher in my personal life too you fucking homophobe!!!" (it was a bad night for him to be mic'd up) but Cowboy Joe was having none of it. It was a historic game to go to and I'll never forget it.
@Guy Incognito you remember this one?

November 26th 1998 Turkey Day

Went to a Reds game in '93 when I was 12, vs the Expos. Larry Walker hit a grand slam. Just...wow

Speaking of Cincy moments, probably my second favorite game was the Cincy/Kentucky second round NCAA game a little while back. I was a neutral observer, but it was really fun.

See. That’s nice. That’s a memory that’s not going to ring in many peoples memory, but you were there as a kid. That kind of stuff carries as an amazing memory, even though it was just a regular season game.

I saw Phillies-Mets at the Vet in 88-89. I was 13 or so. I might have seen Dykstra leg out a triple. But, I was also in the 700 section under the center field scoreboard. It was a bunch of white and grey dots moving around out there. That’s not special either (or at all). But that memory of the game stick with me.

Vegas inaugural season was pretty incredible even though they came up a little short, but that isn't exactly one moment.

I was at dumb Kaepernick's first start, against the Bears on MNF at that dump, Candlestick. They fucking throttled the Bears. It was his first "coming-out party". :heh:

Of the 4 times that I've seen the Bears play...

This is sad...

Chris Chandler (2003)
Kyle Orton/Rex Grossman (2005)
Rex Grossman (2007)
Jason fucking Campbell (2014)

:L

TBH, Idk... I feel like game 7 of the Cubs/Indian World Series was pretty fucking incredible. That game seemed to have everything you could want in a game. A blow out, a comeback, a grand slam, extra innings, a rain delay, etc... all for a team (my team) to win the World Series for the first time in over 100 years. I honestly doubted that I would see it in my lifetime, especially after what happened in 03 or 05.

Just thinking about it now brings a smile to my face lol. Awesome.

Um... I remember that I watched Rashad Evans KO Chuck Liddell so bad, that I initially thought the sport was over lol. Liddell went limp so fast, I thought Evans broke his neck and killed him at that moment lol. The ref rolled Liddell over and his head/neck was just limp. Funny as hell looking back on it now, but at the time Liddell was still an icon of the sport and you have never seen him KO'd like that before.

I’ve been to 5 Patriots winning SBs. I’ve seen them win on last second FGs. I was at game 4 in St Louis when the Red Sox won the WS and broke the curse of the Bambino. I was in the stands for the “tuck rule” game against the Raiders in the snow. I worked security at Fenway for four years and saw virtually every home game. I still have my Patriots season tickets which I’ve had since Parcells was the coach. Despite all that this remains my all time favorite sports moment.

Nobody saw this live unless you were at the arena. This was famously tape delayed.

For me personally it was John Riggins 4th and 1 TD run in the Super Bowl. But the best thing I ever saw was Kirk Gibson's home run because it was just so improbable.
