Greatest sports moments you've seen live.

I believe I may have committed a slight eff up. I saw them live on TV but was not there in person. Does that count? LOL
I feel like the OP was a little open ended this way. I think there was another recent thread like this where it was open to interpretation.

It’s working as a thread though either way.

Slight...

So closed circuit in an arena?

hahaha no, in my living room :beer2:

I thought closed circuit broadcasts back then were in arenas, theatres and bars? Didn't know you could get them at home.

1971 things weren't as technologically advanced at home I didn't think.

I think I saw the first one weeks later on Wide World of Sports.

You are probably correct. I was with a bunch of friends and we were stoned so perhaps we were watching the replay :burt:

Almost saw the Phillies 10,000th all time loss but they came back to win.
I was at the Tigers final game in 03.

Came back to win against a Twins team that mostly minor leaguers. Avoiding being the worst season ever.

Was fun as hell.

I was there when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. Seriously, I was the camera man. We had to do the take twice because I didn't have the audio on record for the "One small step for Man..." thing first time out... But I was high so some of the details?

I remember it like it was yesterday. I think.

He didn't hit a golf ball, somebody else got to do that.

I've seen a lot of great sports moments live. Some more well known than others

Kirk Gibson's world series home run off Eckersley, Magic's "junior, junior skyhook", the "Bush Push", Doug Flutie's Hail Mary vs. the Canes, Buster Douglas upsetting Mike Tyson. Team USA over Russia. The triple overtime NBA finals game between the Celtics and Suns with Garfield Heard's "Shot Heard 'Round the World"...Tyus Edney's coast to coast drive and layup in a game that would have ended UCLA's NCAA tournament run that ended with the last NCAA basketball championship in 1995...

Were we only supposed to list 1? lol

I watched the Association tell the Timberwolves fuck you, you can't have Shaq or Mourning, you get Christian Ponder!!

Wrong Minnesota sports draft bust. I think at least. Was there a basketball player named Christian Ponder that was a draft bust for the Minnesota roundball team, and then a QB that was a draft bust years later for the Vikings?

I call Christian Laettner, Christian Ponder and vise versa because they both sucked!

Shaq would have had to back up Luc Longley, Laettner was a better fit

Was just at the game 6 Golden Knights game on Thursday. Fucking great game, down early, close game until the 3rd, and that arena was rocking!!

They were down 2 game to none in the series, and came back to win 4 straight! Fucking awesome night.

Salmon fishing with my Grandpa. We’re staying in his 5th-wheel just off Lake Michigan. Raining like hell.

So we go to KMart in Luddington and watch the last few innings of the Gibby walk off game in the TV aisle.

Well, my grandpa didnt go to KMart. He was passed out drunk already. But 7 year old me, my cousin and my dad went.

Was on my living room couch, most likely on my 2nd bowl butter pecan ice cream when I witnessed the greatest Shot in sports history.
Down one shot to the 5-time champ Paul McBeth on hole 18, James Conrad needs a prayer at this point to force OT at the Disc Golf World Championships.

A prayer it was and Conrad proceeds to win his first World Championship in OT :yo:
