I know there are variations...how long did you have to swim?

Olympic is nearly a mile no?

I don't think people have a good feel for how hard that is.
Yeah, I did the standard one. I think it was just under a mile, about 25 mile bike (?), and 10k run.

Maybe 1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run.

There's a tri around here that subs kayaking for swimming. They cancelled the last two years, but it sounds fun

Doing 20 laps in a pool without stopping is daunting enough lol. That would be a few hundred I'd think

Hmm...a quarter mile is like 500 yards. An average home pool is probably like 10 yards....yea that would be like 200 laps. Jesus.

Next up, The Columbus Tri Association will substitute the running part for hoverboarding.
What? There are multiple actual triathlons around here. A race decided to change it up a little to attract different people.

I've done lap swimming at a pool on vacation a couple times. I think I start feeling like death at about 150 meters.

I did 4 laps at the pool at our condo in gulf shores, drunk.

Hit my head on the pool wall on the last one and almost knocked myself out.

Decided I wanted to live and haven't been in a pool since.
