I did better than another guy who was down there golfing with us. We went to visit him and he was all bruised and cut up. Asked him Did someone rough you up? We'll go get even!

Turned out he got drunk and fell off the 2nd floor balcony.

And if I'm lyin I'm dyin, a few years later he got drunk and fell down the steps at home. Went and got a motel room with a jacuzzi to ease his pain, passed out drunk and drowned in it.

I am sorry that happened to your friend. However it sounds like he had a drinking problem
 
Started reading a really interesting book over the weekend. Steve Gorman former drummer for the Black Crowes (one of my fav bands when I was a teen) wrote a tell-all. Pretty interesting behind-the-scenes perspective.
