tOfficial ACC Thread

Its difficult to really get a read on them tho. Nearly every single one of their games was within 3-4 points either way it seemed. They could have easily gone 9-3 or 3-9

Exactly. Not the resume of a Top 20 team IMHO. They are getting all the hype because they "almost beat Clemson"? They "almost" aren't as good as they're hyped. Herbstreit even said "watch Sammy Howe". Sammy? Really? The media loves them some Carolina. They want them to be relevant so bad it's sickening.

Herbie get all emotional again? He’s delicate that guy

Hokies got covid so they didn't lose to UVa again. :dhd:

You currently have bragging rights, so I'll let that slide after you went through the same thing for a long.....long......long time.

The rest of the ACC can breath a sigh of relief

At the risk of setting myself up for the easy joke, seeing the two sidelines faced off in an empty Kenan was pretty jarring

I’ll be pulling for GT, but not really sure what to expect from y’all this year.
Our starting true freshman QB decommitted from FSU To start for GT. So things are looking better! Get him his lumps early and let the learning begin. If he stays 4 years, maybe a serious threat in a few more.

Of course, I said the same about Reggie Ball, too. And he got worse every year.

Wasn’t Ball there with Calvin Johnson?

Yeah. You see all those acrobatic looking catches he made? That's because Ball couldn't throw the damn thing and hit the broad side of a barn with reliability, so CJ was forced to become a great receiver. CJ didn't stay for his last year.

Ball did some amazing stuff, but only on occasion and completely inconsisten.

I was going to say CJ could make a lot of people look good. I’ll never forget the 2004 game. We were up by 10 or something with about 3 minutes to go and those two came back and beat us.

I remember it too. Is that CJ diving catch in the end zone?

If Ball was having a good day, he was fun to watch, but he tried to be Joe Hamilton, and he just couldn't pull it off.

But yeah, CJ could make anyone look good.

Thanks for Calvin Johnson ptsd flashbacks guys.
Clemson was able to shut him down the next season tho. Think he only had one catch all game.

Calvin Johnson is the best receiver I have ever seen live in college.
Never saw him live, but he’s definitely one of, if not the best, wrs I’ve ever watched in college.

Even in "pre-game" workouts you could tell he was just special.

You called it

Unfortunately, yes. From what I can tell, might not get that NCState game on the 26th either. Blacksburg is a mess right now because the student population is driving an explosion of cases. But I can't tell if its from poor leadership and lack of planning or if its just a result of opening schools during covid period (meaning its inevitable). The universities that opened earlier like VT, Radford, and such are all now seeing spikes. JMU closed its campus and kicked out its students. UVA hasn't had a spike, but they started like a week or two later so if they are going to see a spike, they'll see it within the next week or so.
