Matt Campbell's Iowa State teams tend to start slow. IIRC they barely escaped an FCS team to open last season.

Also, as stated earlier, Louisiana won 11 games last year, they're a pretty good team. Last year they gave Miss State all they wanted, and lost twice to 13 win App State. With 2 P5 conferences not playing, Louisiana has a real shot to finish the season ranked.

Yep, had to go to OT to beat UNI (FCS) last year. Still finished tied for 3rd in the Big Xii, beat Texas on a walk-off FG, lost @ Baylor on a walk-off FG and lost @ OU after missing a last minute two-point conversion.
As for today, Louisiana has a good team, had a great game plan and executed it well. Good on them! Next up for Iowa State is @ TCU, then OU in Ames. Those two games will set the tone for the year.
