And that's all it is, it is all about respect. If you are out shooting the shit with friends, I doubt many, if any, care about what word you use. But if you are meeting new people, at work with customers/clients/etc, out in public, controlling the way you speak and the words you use is merely out of respect.

And more people need to have respect for each other in my opinion.
