Or when Saban retires.
Those are gonna be some awful big shoes for someone to fill. The pressure to continue Saban's success will be unimaginable.
I am talking about in the next two years.
If Oklahoma was playing in the SEC in 2021, this is how I see it.
Oklahoma is definitely better than the following teams: Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss State, Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Missouri, Auburn (I think they will be down this year)
Oklahoma is likely better than the following teams: LSU (big question mark about this team right now, they could be great) and Florida
This leaves three contenders in the SEC that may or may not be better than Oklahoma
Texas A&M: A&M just brought in a massive new class, has a National Title winning coach, and is coming off a 10-1 #4 ranking season. A&M has a history of folding when you think they will be good or choking/underachieving. If this team leaves up to hype, they are better than Oklahoma or at least on par.
Georgia: Georgia has more talent than Oklahoma but really struggles in big games on the offensive side of the ball. I think this one would be a toss-up but I am leaning towards Oklahoma if they played in a very close game.
Alabama: I do think Alabama is better than Oklahoma and would beat them.
Based on this information, Oklahoma is at worse #4 in the SEC and at best #2. I think that is about where they fit into the picture.
