Happy. With Campbell at the helm, they might start dominating the Big 12 and building up their brand.

Once ISU gets to be relevant going into the season, OU and Texas want to ruin the Big 12. But would ISU be getting this recognition if it happened a few years ago?
lol yeah Texas and ou said f that lets ruin the conference that handicaps our future payouts because ISU just isn't national.. They should be picked up by the BiG in no time huh?

If they end up in the Big 10, they should walk to Austin and kiss some Texas ass. That would be an amazing outcome for them and this is the only time in the last 50 years that it doesn’t sound insane. So the timing actually couldn’t be better

Bro you also voted for UT.. the only things that y'all differed from was placing the CCG to Jerry World..permanently and no more academic qualifiers. You are mocking schools who never had power or the ability to leave.

I said "with" not "for".

Nebraska was the only one against the proposed tejas rule that "Limited the amount of time coaches could be out of the office on the recruiting trail".

Of course the rule would only effect Big 12 North teams and have little if any effect on Big 12 South teams since they were either in tejas or 3 just hours drive from Dallas.

The power shift from North to South took just a few years. Colorado, Kansas St, Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa St were fucking dumbasses thinking that rule would only effect evil Nebraska who'd been kicking their asses for decades.
"We'll suck too as long as we can compete with Nebraska".
Good luck getting anything like that bullshit through the SEC.
Waiting for tejas shenanigans in getting trying to get everybody together to take down Bama. You just know they'll try.

tejas needs advantages. Nobody underachieves like tejas. NOBODY!!!!

ehh all schools lose to a G5 from time to time.. hell Bama lost to one when he arrived at Bama too.. Didn't TN have a rough season not too long ago too?

Hell, Nebraska lost to Northern Illinois a few years ago.
That's after I'd spent years throwing "At least Nebraska's never lost to a mid-major" in people's faces on disney and euro-hoop. LOL

The worst one was me flipping Sooners shit that "At least Nebraska hasn't won less than 5 games in 50+ years. BOOM!! Quickly followed by a (4-8) season. LOL

I don't believe that for a minute.

Get ready for lots of attention seeking writer 'clickbait' over the next week or so.

Yeah. I don't buy that one either. Iowa State and Kansas? Maybe. I think that might be some wishful thinking, though.. I mean, Oklahoma State calls and you can't really say, 'You're not smart enough to join' so you say 'We'll think about it.'

And we lost to Troy not long ago too..

I think Kansas to the Big 10 is a gimme just based on Basketball.
I could see the Big 10 making it a requirement for them that they upgrade their football stadium though. Last time I was there it was a shithole with chunks of concrete falling off the bleachers.

The solution put forward to incentivize UT and OU into staying was a proposed increase in share ownership — bumping both programs a half-share — which would result in $80 million in earnings off the estimated 1.5 shares of total revenue.

What is seen as a last-ditch effort to retain both Oklahoma and Texas, the proposal is set to increase earnings from the $37 million average among Big 12 schools, to $56 million for the two schools.

Saturday’s reporting of Bowlsby’s offer cited potential earnings from a move to the SEC at $60 million, should Oklahoma and Texas follow through on their bid to create a 16-team conference.

Kansas new coach is a Wisconsin boy with a helluva record. Texas and OU running before Kansas starts kicking some ass. It will be 3 years and Kansas will be a player in whatever is left of the Big 12

Saw that. I was doing my due diligence on him earlier.

Kansas is #5 overall in basketball revenue generation nationally.

On average, basketball contributes about 25% of a P5's athletic department revenue.
The NCAA tournament (March Madness) is the highest source of revenue for the NCAA which doles that revenue out accordingly.
Yes... The NCAA makes more revenue from basketball than football.
Kansas is sure to make the Tournament year in and year out (increasing the Big 10's share) and would make for some fantastic Big 10 match-ups during the regular season.
True that football is the main force behind these media contracts (BTN/FOX/ESPN), but basketball is also a part of those contracts.

NCAA’s entire budget is The Tournament at around a billion.

No one is getting their money’s worth so it’s only a matter of time before the P5 schools form their own.

It's 75% of their revenue.

It's awarded in units regarding how many teams get into the tourney. The further a team goes the more units earned for the conference. Final Four teams earn 5 additional units. 5 units equates to about $8.3 million per.

The 25% I referred to is a conferences media rights revenue apart from the Tournament.
For the Big 10 that's regular season basketball games carried on BTN/FOX/ESPN.

I don't see B1G going for Iowa State. I do see them going for Kansas. They don't gain a market with ISU. They can claim Des Moines with Iowa. They have KC with KU.

KU also has a big brand in a big money-maker sport. ISU doesn't have that brand.

SEC should also add:
OKST
UNC
NCST
WVU
UVA
CLEMMINS

Auburn cannot even make up their mind regarding their mascot. They are War Eagles, Tigers, and Plainsmen so go figure. Get ready for the obnoxious fans as well. Wait to you go to Baton Rouge (yuck). It might take a few matchups before it gets personal though.
That is rich coming from a Vols fan ... when the hell did Smokie volunteer?
