the reason its not real credible is because of the names of the schools. i have seen about 4 combinations of these as well as colorado and ucla. all or someThere were reports that Washington, Oregon, USC reached out to the Big 10. Not sure they are credible, but that is out there with 100 other rumors
You ducked the question. Read it again. If a Tom Osborne clone was available (and we all know you guys think he was the GOAT) do you really think he could get Nebraska back to the mountain top again considering all the changes that have occurred over the past 30 years? I'm talking Ohio State/OU/Alabama/Clemson elite. Full disclosure: I grew up in a bedroom that had only two football pennants: Oklahoma and Nebraska.
I just asked a question, dipstick. Lol.That's just official legalese from TX/OU.
Do you expect them to incriminate themselves on a GOR violation in a legal document?
Their lawyers are far smarter than that.

You ain't getting $120 billion so quite trying to make it sound like you do.
I also found this gem: Nebraska’s Federal Research and Development Lags Other Midwest States - Nebraska Tech Collaborative
"Nebraska has performed near the bottom of Midwest states regarding federal research and development dollars directed to the state."
So it sounds like you guys are at the bottom and barely beating out Arkansas.
amazingly enough Dabo was never a coordinator.Well Bob Devaney built Nebraska from scratch. Tom Osborne simply inherited it.
Bob Devaney was shit house luck out of Wyoming. Just like Dabo was shithouse luck as a coordinator making the jump for Clemson.
Nebraska needs to get back to 9 wins (which is obtainable) long before they can even think about the mountain top. It would take an elite coach (pure luck) to get Nebraska back to elite.
Again.... Elite coaches are 3 maybe 4 in a generation. It's that way for EVERYBODY, not just Nebraska. Do you really think the guy that takes over for Saban maintains that level of play? LOL
The Jury is still out on Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day. You can't call them elite just a couple years after inheriting solid programs any more than you could Helfrich, Strong, Kiffin, Muschamp, or a plethora of other coaches that inherited elite just to eventually fall on their faces.
The debate is a silly one to be honest.
You have way more problems than coaching. UGA has had two very good, but not elite coaches in Richt and Smart (jury still out on Smart being elite). Yet, in the past 20 years we've done "fine" - great some years, good otherwise, rarely down. We've done that simply due to demographics which includes being in a recruiting hotbed. That's your problem IMO. I can't imagine the coach that could suddenly get the skill and LOS talent to decide they want to go from the south to Nebraska. It just isn't going to happen. Those southern lineman aren't going to suddenly decide they want to go 1000 miles away to freeze their asses off in Lincoln Nebraska. Without that, you will never get back to Elite because you don't have enough home grown talent. It is what it is, but until you figure how to get around that, Elite is out of your range. Willing to be convinced otherwise.Well Bob Devaney built Nebraska from scratch. Tom Osborne simply inherited it.

No, it's a fair debate. I believe you could move Saban or Dabo or Riley or Whoever to Lincoln and Nebraska is not going back to anywhere close to where it used to be on a regular basis. Recruiting and eligibility requirements have killed that dream. I do want to think Nebraska could get back to a level where it jumps up occasionally and wins the Big 10 but, repeat but, that would take getting lucky on the recruiting trail and having some kids over perform which would give Nebraska back some of its old panache that would wow new recruits. We both hope it happens. Where we differ is you're putting a lot more hope in getting Mr Right to come to Lincoln. I feel the game's changed too much and Nebraska needs to do what you say; just get back to 9-10 wins and then hope lightening strikes once in awhile.Well Bob Devaney built Nebraska from scratch. Tell yourself whatever you need to to be in your comfort zone.
Nebraska, Michigan, and Penn St are one Dabo from being right back to prominence.
No different than Texas or Tennessee who have also been in decline.
The biggest eraser in the world and 100 gallons of bleach won't make this go away.

Georgia is 10 years 'at best' away from reaching that.
LSU is 12 years 'at best' away from reaching that.
Florida and Auburn are 20 years 'at best' away from reaching that.
I acknowledge that the AAU is a big deal for the B1G. It's up to the them if they want that to matter when looking at athletics. But, we are talking football here and at the end of the day whether AAU or not (you guys are still in the B1G as the only non-AAU), the B1G will do what it has to do.
FWIW, I can't see any team other than ND that moves the needle enough for the B1G to feel it needs to make a move. Why would you take less per school by adding 2 teams that clearly would not bring $45 million, or whatever the current share is, in value. You shouldn't.
I think everyone assuming that everyone will do something misses the important thing ... why do something that makes no monetary sense. Let the B12 decide what they want to do. The B1G can't be worried about the ACC grabbing Kansas. Who the fuck cares? It would lessen their per school share.

First, I am well aware that you were in and got booted. Not relevant to the subject, but if that makes you feel better, cool for you.Nebraska WAS AAU when the Big 10 nabbed them.
They are consistent and on recent record stating that they'll remain consistent on the issue.
Big 10 payouts are $54 million. $9 million higher than the SEC at this time at $45 million.
I've noticed many in the SEC go for low hanging fruit on just about every subject. It's football or NOTHING.
The Big 10 has a huge population base. That population base loves basketball. The Big 10 IS a basketball conference too. Kansas would be a big basketball media negotiating tool. SEC basketball doesn't bring eyeballs to tv sets like the Big 10 does.
The new SEC contract for 2024 (already signed) will certainly bring similar payouts to what the Big 10 already receives and likely a bit more. However, the SEC contract is exclusive to ESPN. CBS got dumped.
The Big 10's current contract with FOX/ESPN expires in 2023. They already have the football template from what the SEC negotiated.
Add in Big 10 basketball and I think they surpass the SEC again being how it's likely a conglomeration of FOX/ESPN/ and CBS.
There is some difference though that you are not accounting for.
Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana all are heavy recruiting grounds. This gives Florida, Georgia, and LSU a HUGE advantage compared to Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, or Tennessee. It also kind of gives them an advantage over Miami who lacks the fan support of Florida.
Florida has two National Titles since 2000 and LSU three National Titles. Georgia doesn't have any but nearly got one in 2017. Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska, Tennessee have been miles away from a National Title. Miami got one in 2001 but hasn't done anything since 2003 time frame.
The profitability of Florida, Georgia, and LSU is constantly on the rise and their fanbase/brand is growing while Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska, and Tennessee are in decline.
You cannot argue these facts. All of this makes Florida, Georgia, and LSU more profitable programs. Your numbers do NOT include Merchandise, Fan Attendance, etc. All you are quoting is TV Contracts and AAU money in another thread. Schools have many sources of revenue. I can tell you that Florida, Georgia, and LSU are all in the top 10 on current revenue generated football programs.
I am assuming you can't substantively refute what I said, so you point out some random loss in 2011, 10 years ago. LOL, ok. We've actually had some worse losses than that, but go with BSU, that's fine by me. Thought we were discussing college football. Didn't realize you were so sensitive.Again with the low hanging fruit.
2011 Boise St says fucking HI
"DERRR Futball, DERRR Futball. We're all elite because we're SEC."
I would have said this before they joined the SEC ... man, you have some serious little brother problems if you are a Nebraska fan saying this kind of shit. Quit being so sensitive and discuss things maturely.Newsflash.... Oklahoma is NOT elite. Oklahoma has not been elite since the magic of 2000 (one year). Before that you'd have to go back to 1986 to find elite.
Oklahoma was the best of a DOWN Big 12. Nothing more.
