People like this whiner make it hard to give a damn what happens to Oklahoma State now. OU has said we want to keep playing them so what else can we do? We're willing to give them a chance to beat our ass when we could just as easily go to a better conference and never look back. If OSU was smart (repeat IF), they would jump at the chance to play a strong SEC team every chance they got. I would tell OSU this: "If you drop us from your football schedule you can forget about EVER playing us again in a regular season game in any sport. Period." Then let them make a decision.

Instead of whining about it, maybe they should go find their "big boy pants" and get back to work to make it happen for them.

AND I say that as my team, USC, needs to find their "big boy pants" TOO and get back to work!! :rolleyes2:

Thing is they’ve reached out to the B1G and the PAC apparently. Heard (not sure if true) the B1G said no and the PAC hasn’t said anything. The PAC does have their new commish saying they don’t have to add anybody.

But not sure what else junior can do. Like the other orphans it’s not up to them now. It’s in the hands of the P4 conferences if they want to expand or not.

While the the Pac12 commish says "they don't have to add anybody" right now, doesn't mean that might not have to do something later on. To be real, though, that "later on" will probably be sooner rather than later. OR something like USC and Oregon bolting... :noidea:

I get it, that "it sucks" for the rest of the Big12, but...

Ohh I get shit happens.

But saying they need to put their “big boy pants” on and do more when they’ve done everything or nearly everything possible in a situation that they have very little control over is pure ignorance.

But enjoy your popcorn.

It takes so much money to make a giant program, that most programs don't have the chance today.
Generations ago, it was big oil money that started after WWII, that got OU football going.

Not sure something like that might work today.

When I say they’ve done everything or nearly everything I meant reaching out to other Power leagues to gauge interest. It was directly related to the usc fan saying they need to do more. I’m not sure how much more they could do. It’s not up to any of the newly demoted orphans of the B12. And that’s not a whine, shit absolutely happens and it is what it is.

I don't think it's over, I just think everyone was getting revved up, and now want to slow it down some.

At this point and time it seems like it’s the B1G move. What do they do? Of course other conferences could move first but it feels like the PAC and ACC will be reactionary (for good reason maybe) and the SEC is done (for now). The orphan 8 B12 now won’t make a move to add teams as that will only allow Texas and OU to leave sooner (no pun) and cheaper or free. They know this. So it’s up to the B1G at the moment. Fortunately for most, there is plenty of time.

Side note, these “alliances” pundits have thrown out are jokes. No conference will play every out of conference game with another conference. What’s really the point of playing 1 game or even 2?

It’s sucks my team is in this position but I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t and won’t continue to be entertaining.

With Oklahoma/Texas off the table, the only mildly interesting team left in the BigXII for the PAC is Kansas. The PAC has no interest in any of the others.

I really felt like College was in its best position when it comes to Conferences in the early 2000s.

I miss having a decent Big East, the original Big12, original SEC, and original B1G. I wish the leagues could have stayed pat and when they expended, added strong G5 teams instead of poaching from each other.

Still, I am looking forward to playing Oklahoma and Texas. I just hope we can improve our football program.

I get that 100%. But IF the B1G expands to 16 and Kansas is off the table, what does the PAC do? I’m not arguing it’s the wrong decision to be reactionary but if 2 Power conferences move to 16, does the PAC really stay at 12?

Why not? What does the PAC gain by adding 4 more teams?

New markets and a few more decent football teams.

I honestly get why the PAC would be reactionary but if the B1G goes to 16 I would guess the ACC would go to 16 too. 3 of the 4 Power conferences go to 16, you don’t think that would affect the PAC in any way?

Adding "new markets and a few more decent football teams" isn't going to increase the payout to existing PAC universities.

I would hope it's more money.
It's hard to figure who the PAC brings in that does that.

^^ This is why it won't happen. An extra team will take more money from the pot than it will contribute.

I’d argue adding the Dallas Fort Worth market (TCU) along with the KC market (which Kansas supposedly brings) could in fact increase payouts. That second market of course would mean the PAC is proactive and not reactive.
