Scott Frost for sure. Moos was a huge mistake and Frost was his coaching hire. Very poor athletic directing.

Chip Keely and Matt Wells to round out the obvious top 3 hot seats.

Bowlsby is on the hottest seat at 4 million a year and having utterly failed.

Frost ain't going anywhere as there is NO ONE left to hire at Nebraska.

In the SEC I don't think there is anyone that will lose their job this year except for Orgeron but that will be mainly due to off-field issues if it happens. Everyone that was going to make changes has done so recently and seems to be temporarily ok.

I am looking across the SEC and I think you are right. Most of the schools have new faces and the ones that have longer lasting coaches are winning.

ACC:
Fuente (VT) - Probably should have been fired already. Unless VT has a big year, I think he's gone
Babers (Cuse) - He had one big season in 2018 but he's only had one bowl eligible season in 5 years.

Big 12:
Wells (TT) - Texas Tech needs to show some progress this year for Wells to feel safe. I still think he gets 2022 unless this season goes south real quick.

Big Ten:
Frost (NU) - Year 4 for Frost and he hasn't had a winning season yet. It's going to be harder and harder to keep making excuses for Frost, especially if recruiting dips (2022 is off to a bad start).

PAC:
Kelly (UCLA) - See Frost (although recruiting for 2022 isn't as bad). They actually were better than their record showed last year but they need some Ws this year.
Edwards (ASU) - NCAA investigation related

SEC:
Orgeron (LSU) - If LSU tanks again and/or has more off field problems, you might see LSU make a move.

Again.... Frost is NOT on the Hot Seat with 61% of his scholly roster being true Freshmen and Redshirt Freshmen.
Not one senior on this team was recruited out of high school by Frost. Any seniors (which are few) are either Riley holdovers or are C.C. transfers with just one season in Lincoln.
Any juniors (another small percentage) are either 1st year C.C. transfers or Frosts 1st recruiting class that he had less than 2 months to assemble. The rest were recruited by Riley, but signed their LOI's under Frost.
Also.....Nebraska is NOT going to dish out the $25 million it would take to fire him. They just finished paying off Pelini and Riley contracts in the last couple years. They're not going down that road again any time soon.
Also.... (As @Wild Turkey alluded), who would Nebraska get to come to Lincoln knowing they'll be starting from scratch (again) and there will be unreasonable expectations for immediate success? Nobody that wouldn't just be looking for a retirement check.

Frost is safe until Dec 2023 at the earliest.

A lot of those "freshmen" are in their 3rd year at Nebraska. The fact that last year didn't count against players' eligibility is skewing those numbers. Everyone in the country looks "young" when you look at it that way. If by year 4, Frost can't produce a winning season, Nebraska needs to move on. The talent level isn't that bad.

Agreed. But it is true that this is a very young team in reference to Frost. He's only had 2.5 (at best) recruiting classes even hit the practice field before last Friday.

Recruiting Classes (actual)
2021: Now true Freshmen. First day of practice last Friday.
2020: Now Redshirt Freshmen or true Sophomores
2019: Now Redshirt Sophomores or true Juniors
2018: Over 50% were 2017 Riley commits that signed LOI's under Frost.

= 2.5 Classes with any experience whatsoever.

Again.....Frost is NOT on the Hot Seat this season or next unless he were to pull something unethical in that time that is Bobby Petrino(esque).

So Frost is going to get the Harbaugh, “it takes 9 years before we can actually judge him as a coach” treatment?

I highly doubt that. Let's get to year 6 before we start getting REAL edgy.

The vast majority of Nebraska fans know that squats weren't even a requirement in weight training under Riley. You're not gonna have much success in the the Big 10 trenches doing that. Frost took over a terrible locker room culture.
Said fans are just looking for improvement in production (stats) on O, D, Special teams, and to cut the stupid penalties that kill momentum. Not necessarily record.
All things considered, Frost would survive another 5-7 season.

I remember when Nebraska fired a coach because 9-10 wins was "settling for mediocrity". Now they are willing to stand for 4 straight seasons of bad football?

I'd understand it if there was zero talent on the roster but they've been in the top 30 in the talent composite every year he's been at Nebraska. I believe every single one of those years they've had more talent on paper than anyone else in the Big Ten West.

Especially with a new AD, I could see a coaching change if they have a 4th straight losing season under Frost.

At least Harbaugh's put together winning seasons and top 20 finishes. Nebraska fans seem content if Frost can win a conference game.

No way Frost is on the Hot Seat.
He'll be given time.

I just don't see how Nebraska makes a change, even if they wanted to, which they don't.

Yep.

You're not gonna have much success when the team culture is to do the bare minimums just to keep your scholly.
Many of the transfers in 2018 and 2019 were fairly highly rated players. They were part of that shit Riley culture so they didn't get playing time. They transferred because it was either do what's expected of you or sit the bench behind a 2* or a walk on who wants it more than you.
Nebraska needed an enema.

Yes. The answer to that is yes.

Apparently you didn't read the post you replied to.

Regarding Pelini, his record against teams with 9 or more wins was atrocious.
He had more wins than Harbaugh though at this point in both of their careers.
Where is Pelini the current head coach at again? I forget. TIA

Derp.

Nebraska fans are 'content' with giving him time. At least the level headed ones are.

I read it, I just don't believe it. I don't believe Nebraska is willing to settle for 4 straight losing seasons as recruiting continues to decline. As I said, less than a decade ago they decided 9-10 wins annually wasn't good enough. And I'm not here to second guess or tell them that it was the wrong decisions, it's just odd how 9-10 wins wasn't good enough but they're willing to watch Frost win 4-5 forever with no signs of improvement.

Hopefully Frost shows signs of improvement this year and this conversation becomes irrelevant. But after 4 years, it's going to be harder and harder to keep saying "we're young" or "wait til he gets his guys in".

Harbaugh needed one season to turn Michigan into a 10 win, top 15 team. But Scott Frost needs seven?
