2022 Recruiting Thread

Its happening though

oh man this is gonna be fun to watch... he's going to be everyones favorite backup and once Stroud throws his first INT they will want Ewers.. only for Ewers to tear his groin, shoulder once again and hit the IR.. Rinse, repeat.

So, I'm trying to understand this from his point of view. Him getting in this late probably doesn't help him for this year to be the starter. Especially with a guy like Stroud who was a big time recruit, and not to mention McCord who was also a 5* in 2021(and I think there's another 4/5* guy I'm forgetting). I get the NIL aspect of it, but if he's not starting at QB this fall, which company is going to pay a ton of money to the backup?

If he was going to reclassify, solely for NIL purposes, he should have stuck with Texas IMO. He'd be in a much better position to start there instead of OSU.

Training and developing under Ohio State coaching > the same under HS coaching. Even if you arent starting.

That's definitely true, but if he isn't playing, he's only hurting himself with NIL opportunities and the NFL. Like if he doesn't play until 2023, I'm not sure what good that's doing for him as far as marketability and his draft prospects. If Stroud/McCord beat him out, they aren't going to get benched because every OSU QB puts up insane stats in that offense.

If everyone ran away from challenge, Bama wouldn't win a natty every other year

I think the "seniority plays" concept is fading into a long forgotton one.

If Ewers ends up proving to be better, he will play. Even if one of the other guys starts at first.

Agreed. But I think the odds of all 4 highly rated guys staying are extremely slim, especially when 3 of them have 4 years of eligibility left. I can see sitting for one year, but sitting for two years is tough.

I agree, the best one will play. I'm just saying, that all of those kids have a ton of eligibility left. A RS FR, and 2 TR FR.

It's a great problem to have as an OSU fan, I'm just wondering why he would do this now. I'm doubtful he'll be the starter. Not because he doesn't project to be really good, but so does everyone else in the QB room.

Oh, someone is definitely transferring

I think Ewers is the most over hyped qb coming out of high school since Rhett Bomar.

he has a pretty ball and can throw it on a dime anywhere.. It's remained to be seen how he does under duress. He got beat up in the State title game resulting in him throwing INTs... and losing. I was actually looking forward to see him playing Westlake again..

70% of our class is now rated at least a 4*. That's gotta be a record in the recruiting website era.

Up to #2 on 247. We obviously won't end there, but 15 4* is a really good haul. A dozen top 250 players.
