That guy just beat a bunch of state record holders in the regular 400m with time to spare. I always thought the distance hurdles was the most physically taxing track event, and that was only at 300m. To add an extra 100m by itself is insanity.
 
Biles implements a new routine on beam and wins bronze. Might have been able to get silver if she was able to do her regular routine.

I haven’t watched or seen anything. But I wonder if the changed routine had a lower degree of difficulty.

Guessing this since she has the yips. It makes me think of when a vet QB is injured and the less experienced back up comes in….they simplify the playbook to make it easier.

She worked through the yips and took a weaker routine in and still medaled. I think that’s pretty good.

US is second in golds, but almost 20 medals clear of China in total medals. Bunch of teams still in the gold medal hunt for the US: Baseball, both basketball teams, women's volleyball and water polo are all guaranteed no worse than silver.

I haven’t done a deep dive but she broke the record with her score and nobody had ever gotten all those 10s before so ya gotta think so, right? Pretty amazing performance
 
Dumbest thing ive ever seen at the Olympics.

 
USA wins most gold medals and medals overall. USA passed China on last day to end up with 39 golds to 38 for China
