At home, I'll take store bought tartar sauce and add some extra sweet pickle relish and onion to it.

This is some pretty good Cocktail sauce from Trader Joes

I don't order fish and chips in my area, but if I'm traveling and believe I'll have "legit" fish and chips, then I'll use a little malt vinegar. While it should be difficult to mess it up, surprisingly, it happens too often.
 
Malt vinegar AND fucking tartar sauce.

cocktail on skrimp cocktail. hence the clever name en sech
 
Horsey sauce is always underrated too. I get that for hot wings when available. Would probably be good with fish and French fried taters too

Ok. But there's fush too.

I like malt vinegar on my fries and then dipped in ketchup, fwiw.

Horseradish is good on fucking everything.

Take that ketchup and put some of that shit in there with a little lemon, and NOW ya got ya a dip fer yer fush

Worcheshire sauce is key if you’re goin for cocktail. Otherwise it’s just ketchup with lemon and horseradish.
