Part of me wants to, but I don't think I'll get another Tortie, though. She was one-of-a-kind and I don't think I'd adjust to another one too well. I'll just get a one or 2 year old from our local "no-kill" shelter and give him/her a great home, in my MonaLisa's memory. :nod:

I think the thing I love most about calicos and torties is the tortitude thing. It's like they're extra cat-like, and yet, they seem to be a bit more dog-like, too.

I have to say MonaLisa is one of the most perfect names I have ever heard for a cat.

Whenever you adopt a new kitty, please let me know and post their picture.
Oh, and thanks for considering a kitty older than a kitten.
Once they hit close to adult size, it takes them so much longer to find a home.

Yeah... That's my plan. I got MonaLisa as a kitten from a lady I knew whose cat wasn't spayed because she couldn't afford it. I told her I would pay for her cat to be spayed - so NO more litters! I took MonaLisa, the last kitten from the litter.

BUT, now I wanted to get an older cat and give them a chance to have a good home because, like you said, the older cats have a tougher time to be adopted. While I don't want two cats, if I see a "bonded" pair of older cats, I might take them both to keep them together. :nod:
