Hurricane Ida

I’ve ridden out a Hurricane that was barely a Cat 1 and trust me you want no part of anything over a 3 and I wouldn’t be there for a 2.
No doubt. Hurricane Charley went over our heads. It was very very short until it got to us, but still 80-85. It was no fucking joke.

This made me think what my father said to someone once. The person said “it’s not even going to be a Hurricane when it hits us, it will just be a strong tropical storm”. His reply was “drive down the highway at 70 and stick your head out the window. It’s not docile.

Now take that up to a 2,3 or 4. I grew up with stories of people that went through Andrew. Now I know some that went through Michael (Cat 5).

Each category up is a multiple of hell

Tornadoes typically always follow also. It makes it feel like it’s never over and even when it’s calm and quiet you’re unnerved.

That was my experience with Irma a few years back. This one was hours before the storm with a feeder band coming through. Weather radio went ape shit about a tornado heading our way.

We all got into the hallway (Florida homes do not have adequate tornado sheltering). While there we got no tornado, but we did hear an immense straight line gust that lifted a section of the neighbors fence right into our dining room window.

made me happy I had boarded up…..

The embedded tornados are their own form of madness.

Gonna get CRAZY down there...

okay fine. I'm ready to say the sky is falling here.... I'm thinking it gets to a strong Cat 4 before going back down to a 3 at landfall

Katrina brushed by Key West as a Cat 1 and I went to bed. Woke up next day and it was a Cat 4. Never seen anything like that

Is Tulane going to still be fucked up a week from this Saturday.
Looks like the game is fucked.

Tornados can easily pop up from these megas...Be very mindful.
I’ve lived in south Florida for many years. He spent all but one year of his life there. All too familiar
