To me it was a questionable hit but didn't meet every definition of targeting.
What gets me is the announcers spending over 5 minutes saying the 'review' was for 'targeting' when it wasn't. There were no flags on the field and they were too fucking stupid to realize it.
I sat here the whole time knowing the review was simply to determine if the receiver made a catch/fumble, or was he down before the ball came out.
Targeting was never reviewed because the refs didn't throw a flag on the play.
Great point that it didn't meet every definition of targeting. Joel Klatt (former CU player) wanted targeting called badly it seemed.

We need improvements from the LB's and 1 person at RB. That looks like Henderson. Stroud should only get better and both lines were a little less impactful than I thought. Stroud showed good presence in the pocket and knows when to throw the ball away. A home crowd against Oregon should help next week.

He didn't 'Launch'
He didn't hit him with the 'Crown' of the helmet.
It wasn't a 'Defenseless' player.
It was simply a BIG hit.

Oregon's got more 'big play' talent though. The question is how well developed it is? How disciplined it is?
The difference in the game last night was that Ohio St's talent was enough to overcome their earlier mistakes.
Minny had to play a clean game and work for everything they got. For the most part they did, but when Minny had a couple of mistake ridden later possessions Ohio St capitalized on them.

I think OSU will be fine. They may have just played their toughest game in the regular season last night. Stroud is only going to get better, they have arguably the best O-line, RB room and WR's in the country. They'll give up some points, but so did LSU 2 seasons ago when they won the title.
I didn’t watch the whole game, but the part I saw, showed Minnesota getting very lucky. I wouldn’t count on them hanging with the big boys.

I can agree with this. I thought OSU did not look like a NC contender last night. That said, it’s week 1. Lot of time to get shit straightened out between now and January

Ohio State dropped two picks that hit defenders right in the hands and had another pick taken away bc Dallas Gant decided he needed to smack Morgan on his helmet 2 seconds after he released the ball

However, the broadcasters were saying the review was based on targeting and it wasn't.
It was based upon possession of the ball.

When you've got a hit that big, I think a targeting flag could automatically have be thrown. Let the review booth figure it out if it met the definition or not.
In this case I don't think it did. However, the rule on 'review' is there has to be undeniable evidence to overturn the original ruling, so maybe that's why a flag was not thrown and my idea is whacked.

LB should be good once NCAA approved Palaie Gaoteote's transfer. Still not sure why it's taking so long, but I suspect the transfer approval should get a approval soon.
