59 Years Ago This Month, the greatest TV show in The History of TV shows premiered. September 1961

Setting the still | Survival, The beverly hillbillies, Prepper

I watched it some

Never missed it.

It was on Saturday nights here. Just before Jackie Gleason (another great show).

And it spawned Green Acres which was also a laugh fest.

I always enjoyed things back in Bugtussle when they visited.

And I liked the episode where the hippies were trying to get Granny to smoke some crawdads...

Mr Drysdale was a strong character too.

The Dash Riprock episodes were solid and then the one with Mr America Dave Draper with all his bumps...

Max Baer, Jr. , who played Jethro Bodine, was the son of Max Baer, Sr., who was at one time the most feared boxer on the planet as he was the heavy weight champion of the world.

Never missed it.

It was on Saturday nights here. Just before Jackie Gleason (another great show).

It did not spawn Green Acres. Green Acres was spun off of (basically a sister show of) Petticoat Junction with both being set in the mythical Hooterville and sharing a few characters.

There was a few crossover episodes where Granny or the whole family visited Hooterville, but Green Acres was not spun off of the Beverly Hillbillies.
