Hall of Fame voters removed names from their ballots they had voted for the year prior just so they could put Derek Jeter in by himself.

That's how badly overrated he is.
I was a Sox guy before LeChina bought the team, but I still got re2pect for Jeet.

Derek Jeter's entire career was basically Chipper Jones age 38-40 seasons. Overrated. Defensive liability. If he was a true leader, A-Rod, the superior defensive SS would have been playing SS while Jeter played third.

And that routine popup that any SS with average range is slowing to a trot to catch where Jeter took 15 extra steps and dove into the stands is the second most overrated play in baseball history. Second only to Carlton Fisk's game 6 home run where his team promptly lost game 7.

If you remember that game the best defensive play in it was actually by A-Rod, the "that's not actually a triple play but holy shit!" play he made with the bases loaded in extras.

Absolutely. Pokey Reese also had a catch on a popup that actually required leaning into the stands(Jeter would have never got to it) in that game.

That A-Rod play was incredible, it's good to know that someone else remembers it. I can't remember if it's on youtube somewhere in a highlight package from that game.

Don’t know if it’s on YouTube, but I was at my old best friend’s house and his dad was a big Yankees fan, we were watching live

Yeah my future wife was happy that I was excited about something but did not appreciate me keeping her up. But since we were living in NYC I told her everyone at her office was probably still awake watching and drinking anyway
