I had a sinus infection when I was home from college for winter break. Was working at McDonald's for extra cash during the break, and I think I missed like a week of work. Barely moved off the couch. The manager called me like three times to make sure I wasn't dogging it.

Don't miss those days one bit.
 
Lot of taxi work this weekend. 3 hockey practices and 2 football games. Deuce is living his best life. Had to shell out for a new hockey helmet. Over $200.

Then took Lil’ Kobe to the orthodontist this morning to get braces. $6k.

Looks like I need to keep working.

I will say places I worked, generally speaking if I called in, they accepted it, just unpaid but huge guilt trips and push to find someone
 
Played softball last night. Got hit in the ankle by a ball. Felt fine until I took my shoe off. Now I’m limping around like a gimp. And I have a bunch of road rash on my leg from sliding for catch a foul ball.

Seems I’m getting too old for rec sports. I can’t stop myself from going all out and now I’m starting to get banged up almost every game.

my cousins non-biological kid has desperate need for braces, he just started middle school

I really wanted to ask what the plan was to get his chompers fixed, they're bad

I think ever since I've had a laptop at work (so... Last 8 years or so), I've always at least answered emails when I've been sick. So not necessarily work work but something.

Maybe that $100 you have will help the effort.

Braces are insane. Between the expander, retainer, and braces we are talking like $10k out of pocket. No wonder I never had them as a kid. Trailer park kids don’t get their teeth straightened.

I think Sunday is my last week of softball, so down to one thing to get injured at after that.

Good weekend, though. Went out for a couple beers after we dropped my daughter off at my parents' house on Saturday. Watched the Eagles game, then went to the boardwalk to catch Flogging Molly's set at the Stone Pony. Tank's first experience with live music.
