GAME Washington @ Michigan | 5pm PDT | ABC

I still can't figure out our passing game. The question remains, did we not pass because the running game was working so well or did we not pass because we're not good at it?

Seems like we ran so much and with so much success, that it would have opened up a few quick scores with the passing offense. Makes me nervous that they're so hesitant to go to it.

Michigan really has Washington guessing on defense. What is that -- like 12 running plays in a row
I saw some stat -- on our four TD drives we had like 35 rushing plays and 4 passing plays lol

It felt like an original Tecmo Bowl playbook. Run left first down every time.

It was legitimately like 5 plays over and over again, and Washington couldn't stop it. It was the most bazar thing I've seen.

He's 16 of 28 for 180 over two games you won handily...One could draw the conclusion that the qb whisperer is not wanting to reveal the whole playbook to NIU and Rutgers...or one could conclude that McNamara is hot garbage.

Hard to tell. He's had some good throws in that limited amount of attempts, and we've also had a bunch of critical drops in those limited tries. In both games we barely passed, and in the first game he was pulled for the backups early in the 3rd quarter. So we really only have like 6 quarters of data.

It very well could be that he's not very good; in fact history under Harbaugh would suggest it. The throws he's made have not been "hot garbage", but we'll see when he inevitably gets into a game where throwing is a must.

That's a weak sauce quote compared to Spurrier or Leach quotes.

All he had to say was "You gotta be able to run in the Big 10. We were having success with it, so we took the opportunity to keep working on it."

Harbaugh is a weak sauce coach so…

But with the new 4 game rule wouldn’t it justify at least seeing if he is good enough? If he is as good as everyone says he isn’t staying 4 years anyway. I don’t know, wasn’t impressed with Morris last year and this year he isn’t looking very good nor does it seem Michigan or Montana even gameplanned like you had a serious QB. With SC about to hire a real coach and the Chipster making UCLA look as good as they in decades this is a bad year to punt on the season and possibly lose recruits.
Yeah. I don’t know man.

Me either and obviously I don’t tear up when you guys lose. But you got too much talent to be looking like the 92 Seahawks offense
The coaching is just so incredibly bad. You don’t need an advanced football degree to see where the problem is. Delay of game on the first play after the opening kickoff, calling timeout on 3rd and 10 in the first quarter (and getting nothing), running a dive on 3rd and 5, getting stuffed, then trying to run off tackle on 4th and 5, and getting stuffed. They look like they haven’t practiced in months.

Seems the only reason to throw the true freshman QB out there at this point is to show you’re trying something different, but he’ll just get his ass kicked if they don’t fix the real issues.

UM is going to get hammered if they face any team who can stop the run. McNamara looks like a trainwreck. The fact he is the best QB UM has in year 7 of Harbaugh is embarrassing.

Don’t worry, once he gets his guys in there, he will have the team rolling.

This is probably true. I want that on record. But there is a part of me hoping this strategy is purposeful and not necessary

It could be situational. Washington's (perhaps only) strength is their secondary. Since Michigan didn't need to pass, they may have avoided playing to Washington's strength

If you are in the group saying - UM isn't passing because they don't want it on film, that is
assinine.
McNamara has had one really good game against Rutgers. The rest of his 5 games he played -- he has completed around 50% of his passes for a whopping 3 td's.

He is the ultimate game manager, which is pathetic in year 7 for Harbaugh.
