morning

got knocked out of the playoffs last night. We at least took it to three games in the match and lost 22-20...so close and played much better than I expected there.

Oh well, it was a fun season
 
Ran down to the gym. Had dinner (beef pot pie). Watched the Danbury Trashers show.
 
also my golf league ends tonight...so fall sports and done-zo after tonight unless another tennis league pops up...but I kind of doubt it.

had to bail on the best ball tournament I was scheduled for this Friday due to work commitmentsbut I am not too broken up about that
 
morning all

lawn bowling team won last night, final week is next week. We have secured a winning record for the season.

Funeral for Mrs Friend is scheduled for Saturday. I was supposed to go to gopher game saturday with my nephew, I floated the idea of not going to funeral, that didn't go well. Being it's just bowling green, I don't much care that I'll miss it, but was looking forward to going with nephew, oh well. I'll be able to bring him to Maryland or Nebraska game
 
a friend's dad passed away over the weekend from COVID. She isn't a close close friend, but I see her and her kids at most of the get togethers and have gone on weekend trips with them in the past. I will likely go to the celebration of life for him next week to pay my condolences.

High temp of 63 today. It got up to 94 this past Saturday. Scrambling to find my fall wardrobe
 
well I guess my title is wrong since the Phils won. I didn't see them pulling that one off.

Good AM.

Bad news: Football practice got rained out an hour in. Good news: RBJr. was named the new starting TE. Bad news: Positive I tore ligaments in my ankle. Good news: daughter made cheerleading.

I know right. I think funerals in general should be reserved for weekdays

Sunday I had to leave a mostly full beer behind to go be with the wife, saturday I'm missing football. I'm the real victim in this tragedy

Rolled my ankle about as bad as you can without breaking it two Sundays ago running routes on the track (like an idiot) during football practice. Woke up this past Sunday w crazy pain, unable to put weight on it. Bought a brace. Been toughing it out. But the lightning shooting pain tells me something is really wrong down there.
