I experienced Old Hag Syndrome last night

Has anyone experienced this? It was maybe the most terrifying night terror of my life.

I'd say Google it, but my experience wasn't that of seeing any old hag on top of me, but I woke up to this unknown figure, they were probably about 5 ft tall, shooting like the speed of light from the bedroom doorway and immediately diving onto me head first into my chest. I couldn't move as they remained on top of me. I felt like I couldn't breathe, as I tried to say something but felt like I was just gasping for air and couldn't get the words out. Finally after some serious effort I was able to yell out something and it seemed to end the experience.

I know someone who experienced something similar with the "thing" sitting on their chest with the coldest, cruelest, most malicious glare they'd ever imagined and they couldn't speak or move. Changed their life.

Are you fucked up from it?

I didn't get to see any features in it. It was just a black shadow type figure. The whole experience is still rather vivid in my mind. I can remember the dream i was having right before it all happened very clearly, and then of course i remember the moment itself very clearly.

It happened to the mother of one of my friends growing up. It fucked her up bad. She had just bought some clothes for her daughter from a yard sale and had fallen asleep in the afternoon on her couch as she was mending the garment. She later attributed the whole thing to the clothes being possessed. Woke up with this thing on her chest. When she was finally able to struggle up and scream the thing flew up to the corner of the room and remained glaring down at her. She had a weird thing where she blacked out and come to and it was gone. It sounded like a nightmare.

i've heard many a story similar to this; let me ask you this: were you at home, sleeping in your own bed as you normally would? or were you somewhere that you've never been before, or go to very infrequently?

I was at home sleeping in my own bed, typical normal night.

No idea. But it definitely felt like a paranormal type experience. I remember trying to gasp out "Who is this?" repeatedly, and trying to roll over to shake them off, but i couldnt move and i couldn't speak, eventually only able to yell out a noise that finally made it all stop
