I can admit I’ve warmed up to him a bit over time as well. I think it’s a combo of he has become a better broadcaster, and maybe broadcasters as a whole have gotten weaker.I have warmed up on Joe a little. The dude has taken a beating from people, for a long time, and it all just seems to deflect off his cranium. I wouldnt want to hang out with him, but his voice doesn't bother me.
I did have a moment though, of feeling very old. Like a piercing jolt of,"YOULL BE DEAD SOON!" as hearing the he and Troy Aikman have been doing the broadcasts for 19 years! That mean Aikman has been retired for almost 20 years. Not sure why, but once in a while its like," How fucking old are they?" or "They retired how long ago?", and I realize I'm wasting time.

And I’ve found him interviewed on some podcasts this year and found him a great interview. I’ve always found him a pompous ass....but he is growing on me.
He deserves a new color guy. Aikman has been toast for a while. Well past time to put that punch drunk pony in the back pasture
He's a St. Louis Cardinals fan. What do you expect?he's a pompous ass.
Oddly, I've always like Aikman and never got the criticism. I appreciate how he never seems to say anything obviously self-serving.I can admit I’ve warmed up to him a bit over time as well. Oh come on....even discussing the guy in the rarified air of Collinsworth isn’t fair.Oddly, I've always like Aikman and never got the criticism. I appreciate how he never seems to say anything obviously self-serving.
I will say that as far as being an obnoxious ass, Joe Buck is in the rookie leagues compared to Chris Collinsworth.
I watched parts of at least 100 Cubs games a year just to hear Harry after 27 Budweisers.Oh come on....even discussing the guy in the rarified air of Collinsworth isn’t fair.
Collinsworth has certainly forgotten the heavy accented kid he was.
I don’t dislike Aikman. I thought I would when he started because of the team he played for, but I didn’t. You’re right on his pluses.
But I’m just so over his CTE on display every game. Similarly I liked Summerall a lot in the day. But by the end I was tired of his ever increasing punchiness (and likely inebriation).
I have changed my tune on Joe too. I read his book a few years ago and I saw a different side to himI have warmed up on Joe a little.
