National Vodka+Golf+Taco=Monday

they should just post highlights from their kids peewee football games and that's it!

That would require them to be and act normal. Not happening.

I don’t know. It absolutely blows up mind they put this stuff on social media. So much of it is battling back and forth for the attention of their “followers” and what they’ll think of it all. Makes me wonder how this would go without an online audience.
I content 86% of this shit wouldn't be happening if there wasn't social media. Granted I didnt live long before this stuff, I highly doubt people were this fucked up before it.

Ive had FB for a grand total of 8 months my whole life over 12 years ago. So when I see this stuff now it absolutely blows my mind. It’s like being back in 3rd grade and seeing Porky’s for the first time. I’m not conditioned to it at all. So for me personally it’s just the most glorious form of entertainment I can find. I love it. I just hope he/she/it/them don’t actually murder my aunt/uncle/cousin etc like my sisters fear. It’s that nuts. Like satanic worshiping transgender vampire clown murderer nuts. I’m not joking.

:pop2:

People were always this fucked up, they just didn't have much of an audience before. It was pretty much limited to the people in whatever passed for their social circles.

Internet gave people who used to be "alone" a sense of community.

I assume you are asking about the furniture? The entertainment center is a little dated IMO and a bitch to move. Otherwise they are in good condition
Lol, no I wasn't asking about the furniture.

You don't think that the idea of "strength" and "bravery" caused some people to simply "follow" the attention hole and it spirals from there? I think there's copious people out there who had the link to mental health issues stored away that essentially gets "activated" because of the positive reinforcement that social media provides.

You didn't have to attack the entire morning thread crew like that

There are probably some people that would have faked normal or hid their whole lives before, and there are probably a few who take advantage of it. For the most part, there have always been weird people around though.

Decent sports weekend. Alma mater won 67-0 on Friday. Michigan beats Wisconsin to go 5-0. Soft schedule so far, but I'll take it. The 49ers lose to another rival though. Damn injuries just kill them most years.

Bossy did well on Saturday during volleyball. Maybe she's getting better and showed a little more athleticism. I also have officially been tasked with the stepkids' school's club wrestling program. I'm sure I'm destined to fail. Going to watch some Brands & John Smith tutorials. Also Jordan Burroughs and others.

Of course. I just think social media broke a lot of people.

I don't think that social media causes mental health problems. I do think that social media gives some people who may not have acted on their behaviors a certain way before more of an avenue to find acceptance, but these people had underlying issues in the first place. They may have just been shitty recluses in 1985, now they're e-famous or whatever.

And honestly, it impacts me about the same either way.

I agree with this

but be careful, you are close to a vortex with someone who doesn't understand the word "social"

YOU should be careful! You are messin' with an idyllic facade

Eh, this is essentially where I was going.

There are two kinds of crazy. The first is a guy who strips off all his clothes runs out into the snow and howls at the moon. The second, is a guy that does the same thing in my living room. The first one doesn't matter, the second you are kind of forced to deal with

I mean, there have definitely been changes to behaviors as a result of technology, but now it's a "community" of fringe people, instead of just a bunch of loners on their own.

I guess, though, that it's easier to just blame Zuck.
