Friday am thread. Rock takes over

It has about 410,000 square feet of exhibit space. It's not THAT big. Columbus has about 370,000.
i just repeated what google told me, i dunno. ive been to maybe 15 sizable places like this for trade shows. this was the biggest i had ever been in. now small? the pasadena one for the space tech expo

Well

My Cardinals are falling apart, my Celtics are getting run over by the Heat, and the Cowboys lost to the fucking Rams. I fully expect a complete asshole like Patrick Reed or Bryson deChambeau to win the Open just cause they know it will piss me off.
The only winner I've got left is Kevin Harvick.

Fuck a bunch of sports.

Hopefully Thomas can have another nice round. Scores suck today. Schauffle shot even and that's like one of the best.

Jesus....nm he must've doubled the 18

With 2.2 million square feet, the I-X Center is the 9th largest convention center in the world as rated by Trade Show Executive magazine.
That is all incorrect.

Just off the top of my head, McCormick, Orange County, Las Vegas, Ernest N Morial Centers are all larger and that's just in the US. There're probably a few others that I'm not familiar with in the US, and there are a host of massive centers in China and Germany.

IX is a big place, but it's not extraordinarily big relative to major convention centers.

I've been there. Not a bad convention center at all. Unfortunately, you have to drive through that souless, plastic, giant shopping mall they call a city to get there.

well, you better correct google fast, because 5 sites i found say that.

The International Exposition Center, better known as the I-X Center, was a convention and exhibition hall located in Cleveland, Ohio, adjacent to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The 2,200,000-square-foot (200,000 m2) building included over 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) total square feet of exhibition and conference space, making it one of the largest meeting, convention, and exhibition centers in the United States. The diverse show schedule included public events featuring one of the country's largest boat shows, trade shows, banquets and meetings attracting over 2 million visitors each year.

At least you don't have to look at abandoned factories and crack houses

I'll get right on that.

Just kidding.

The IX Center's official website lists its square footage at less than half of what you and Wiki claim.

The International Exposition Center, better known as the I-X Center, in Cleveland, Ohio provides more than one million square feet of space, Midwest hospitality, hassle-free attitude and flexibility to make your event a huge and more profitable success.

With that, I'm done discussing convention centers.

weird

With 2.2 million square feet, the I-X Center is the 9th largest convention center in the world as rated by Trade Show Executive magazine. This helps to draw some of the top show producers from around the world, which provides you with great events.

Oh, one more bit, I guess.

Saw on the news this morning, they're closing the IX Center.

Adios, pendejo.

talking to a guy across from me (he went with me).

"isnt that place only like 30 years old?"

my guess is it goes to the airport, or nasa glenn takes it over. theyre a stones throw away.

IX Center.

Piece of shit convention hall.

I don’t think it’s markedly bigger than most major convention halls.
Place is fantastic. I held my bar mitzvah AND wedding reception in there.

News said that it's owned by the city and they're going to look to "repurpose" it.

They had some pretty big shows that would draw folks. An annual car show and a boat show - I think I was at each of them once - and then a ghettofied indoor amusement park that my kids would beg to go to when they'd see the commercials on TV. Thankfully, it appears I've dogged that (proverbial and literal) bullet for good.

I was never there for a sales convention, which is odd, given the ridiculous number of conventions I've attended.

no, its huge dude.

@SlinkyRedfoot no longer subscribes to Trade Show Executive. He wanted inside dish on fruit and veggie conventions and when the publication found out his reasons why...lets say it did not end well
